ECUMENICAL CRAFTERS GROUP BEING ESTABLISHED AT THE LIVING SPIRIT CENTRE
Do you love to quilt, sew, knit or crochet?
Do you wish you knew how to quilt, sew, knit or crochet?
Did your mother leave you a room filled with fabric, wool, sewing machines and thread, that you don’t know what to do with?
Are you looking for a fun, new way to help local charities and congregations?
LET THE CHURCH HELP!!
We are establishing an ecumenical ‘caring crafters’ group out of Living Spirit Centre (3018 Doan Drive, Regina). Although we may not really get going until the fall, we’d like start the journey now. Join us on Wednesday, June 14 (2:00 – 4:00 or 7:00-9:00, whichever works best for you) to explore what we might do together, how and when we’d like to get together, and to discuss ideas and questions. All are welcome, all genders and ages, no faith affiliation required, just a willingness to love, learn, laugh.
The hope is to use donated supplies to create items that can be:
gifted to local organizations for their clients (eg, quilts and toques for Carmichael Outreach to give to people who are street involved);
sold to generate funds for local organizations (eg Regina Mental Health Association), and our home congregations for outreach activities and more;
given to local groups+ for them to sell or raffle in support of their work And to teach folks who want to learn these skills to contribute to our overall efforts.
We are fortunate to start out with fabric and finished items gifted by the St Martin’s Crafters, a similar, recently ‘retired’ group.
