These ministries and groups are a crucial part of the United Church’s ministry by, for, and with diverse Saskatchewan communities and needs. They include chaplaincies at hospitals and the University of SK; advocacy and accompaniment with economically poor neighbourhoods; outdoor ministries serving diverse youth and young adults; and restorative justice ministries that advocate for and accompany the incarcerated and their families. Some are United Church ministries, and others are independent ministries and organizations. Living Skies Regional Council and its communities of faith strive to support all of them. Scroll down to see an overview, and a little further down to see their latest news.
Support their vital ministry and community presence with:
Your time and skills: From volunteering to being on a board, your support makes a difference. Please contact the ministry or organization to enquire.
Your financial support: Most of these organizations or ministries are registered charities or under the umbrella of a registered charity, and welcome your tax deductible donation. Your support enables everything from crisis support in the medical system to student counselling, public education, volunteer training, well-staffed outdoor programming, accompaniment with those imprisoned, meals, and advocacy with the provincial or federal government. We could go on!
You can donate (and receive your receipt) through Canada Helps, provided the organization is a registered charity. Click here and use the search function; refer to each ministry’s formal name below. And you can find out more about their work through their website or social media.
