Rev. Marlene Britton, General Council staff, writes. “I am delighted to announce that the Rev. Laura Fouhse will join the Office of Vocation team in the Ministry and Employment Unit of the GCO, as the Vocational Minister for the Northern Spirit, Living Skies, and the Prairie to Pine Regions. She begins her assignment on August 08, 2022.

Laura comes to this work with 25 years of experience in the work of encouraging, supporting, and challenging those considering or pursuing a call to ministry. These years have included work on the Education and Students’ committees of Presbytery, the Conference Interview Boards, and most recently, as a member of the Prairie Candidacy Board. Laura values the ministry of accompaniment, and has done so intentionally with marginalized people, folks who are refocusing, and folks who are hurting. This, along with her considered experience in developing training manuals for church leaders, creating and facilitating developmental programs in various areas, and mentoring community leaders will be valuable as she journeys with ministers in her regions.

Laura lives out her vocation as a diaconal minister, coming to the role after serving 16 years in team ministry at McClure United Church in Saskatoon and prior to that, 3 years in the Rainbow Ministry in Winnipeg.

Please join me in welcoming Laura and wishing her well in her new role.” – Rev. Marlene Britton, Team Lead, Policy and Programs for Ministry Personnel, Ministry and Employment Unit
