I Ploughed the Sacred Soil

March 24 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

MultiFaith Saskatchewan and Eastside United Church host the screening of this important documentary which tells the story of an ill fated experiment in the Peepeekisis Cree Nations over 100 years ago.  The then self serving Indian Agent developed a scheme to create the File Hills Farm Colony and recruited young people from other indigenous nations to work in this colony.  His experiment failed and the consequences of the project created divisions in the Peepeekisis community that linger to this day although the people there work to overcome the division. The documentary is produce by Birdsong and is written and directed by Mark Dieter.
