At this time of the year as we begin to prepare for the birth of the lowly Christ Child, we remember others who might be living in difficult or stressful situations and our Living Skies ministries and partners who support them.  And we remember the many moments throughout 2024 when the ministries you’ll meet below offered space for support and advocacy, learning and community.

Do you have a child in your circle who might love to go to camp next summer?  Perhaps a gift certificate for a few days at camp might be a wonderful gift of community and outdoor ministry.  There are 4 camps within Living Skies Regional Council and one just inside the Prairie to Pine border: Lumsden Beach, Shagabec, Tapawingo, Woodboia, and Wellman.

Or maybe 2024 was a year that you spent time with a loved one in a hospital, and a fitting thank you might be a donation to one of our hospital chaplaincies South and North, based in Regina and Saskatoon and covering the whole province.

Maybe your child, grandchild or even great-grandchild headed off to Saskatoon to university, and you would like to support those who support them.  The Ecumenical Chaplaincy at the University of SK would be very appreciative of your support.

People working with those facing poverty and houselessness are always grateful for assistance to continue their work towards healthy and thriving communities and a more just Saskatchewan and Canada.  Both Integrated Community Ministries in Saskatoon and Regina Anti-Poverty Ministries appreciate your support.

Restorative justice ministries faced massive 2023 cuts to their vital work of community-based Circles of Support and Accountability, which have long been proven to help community safety.  Your support to Micah Mission, Parkland Restorative Justice, and COSA South is one step towards helping their work continue.

La Ronge United Church remains our northernmost congregation, serving the community through a ministry of open doors.  Your support is a welcome gift.  And the Prairie Centre for Ecumenism, celebrating 40 years this year, welcomes your support for their commitment to bringing churches together for action in common.

And let’s not overlook The United Church’s Mission and Service.  Through partners around the world, Mission and Service reaches places that individuals cannot; together we can make a big difference.  Your donations have an impact around the world, and the Gifts with Vision program is also a great way to support many community programs across Canada and the world.  Plus it’s a great alternative to buying more things.

Your Mission and Service gifts have already supported all of the ministries named here, and also outlined on our community ministries page.  Thank you and bless you.  Don’t hesitate to get in touch with them to learn more about their ministry!
