SUMMARY:Spring 2025 Women's Gathering
DESCRIPTION:A one-day Spring Women’s Gathering is being planned for Saturday\, April 26 at St. David’s Trinity Church in Saskatoon from 10 to 3:30.  This is for ALL women in Living Skies Region.  The worship service will include communion and a memorial for those women who have passed away in the last year but have contributed to the church in many ways during their life span.  Please send memorials to Barb Byers Bradley.  Because the theme is the Centennial of The United Church of Canada we are also inviting those attending to bring a historical item from your church or wardrobe. \nThe Annual meeting will also take place.  Please remember that we are looking for a secretary and a second vice-president.  If you or you know of someone who might be interested in either of these positions\, please contact any member of the executive. \nWe will again be having a silent auction\, so please consider donating an item or bring a group item for the silent auction. \nThe executive will be meeting again on February 27 to finalize plans for the Gathering.

DESCRIPTION:The Saskatchewan United Church Women’s Gathering is open for all women of The United Church of Canada and will be held Saturday\, April 27\, 2024 at St. David’s Trinity United Church (3318 Merritt Street\, Saskatoon).    Here is an updated poster. \nOur guests are the Rt. Rev. Jordan Cantwell\, former Moderator of the United Church and the Growth Animator for the Prairies and Carolle Dallas-Arbuckle\, Representing our National UCW. \nTheme: Growing Spiritually based on Scripture: Mark 1:29 – 39.  This is from verse 34: “And he healed many who were sick with various diseases; and cast out many demons.   And He would not permit the demons to speak\, because they knew Him.” \nRegistration:  9:00 am. with the Programme to follow at 9:45 a.m. (note time change).  Cost: $30 (includes coffee and lunch).   Registration deadline: April 19\, 2024.   Here is the registration form. (it will download to your computer) \nAs part of the worship service\, an “In Memoriam” for the women in your community of faith who have passed away in 2023 will be held.  If possible\, please send a picture and obituary to Barb Bradley at greenview@sasktel.net \nAlso\, a short AGM will be held to fill two positions: first vice-chair and secretary.  Please email your nominations to Dawn Weber at morning.glory6.dw@gmail.com . \nThere will also be a silent auction.  The monies made are being split between two charities and a small amount will be held back for the next gathering.  If you are able to bring something for this auction\, please let Dawn Weber know at morning.glory6.dw@gmail.com.

So here is what I am working on for a presentation and group discussion.” \nTHEME\nACTS: What Tabitha\, Lydia and an un-named slave girl teach us about knowing Jesus in a new way and continuing in hope.  (Acts 9:36-43; Acts 16: 9-15) \nThrough art\, music and poetry\, we’ll remember their stories.  They rest from their labours and yet their work follows them. SUMMARY:Women's Event for all Women in Living Skies Regional Council - CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED\nWOMEN’S GATHERING for ALL women in the United Church takes place at Calvary United Church in Prince Albert on April 24 – 26.  The theme for the week-end is “Women & Mindfulness”.  Check-in is from 6:30 – 7:30 on Friday.  Shannon McCarthy\, Executive Minister of Northern Spirit\, Living Skies and Prairie to Pine Regional Councils will be in attendance.  There will be a Wellness Presentation as well as a speaker on Forever in Motion.  Workshops include: choice of Gentle Yoga or Meditation in the morning and choice of Prayer Bracelets\, Container Gardening\, Drumming or Beading in the afternoon.\nSaturday’s evening entertainment will feature local Indigenous Dancers.  We will lead Sunday’s worship service and plan to include a Women’s Choir.  Cost for the Gathering including all meals is $50 plus $10 for workshop supplies.  Registration forms must be in by April 1.
